ARCore's new Augmented Images API lets you build AR apps that can respond to 2D images. To announce this at I/O 2018, Novel was tasked to design, develop and fabricate an experience that would educate developers on the capabilities of this new feature.
"Mixed Mediums" is an augmented gallery consisting of three artworks, each exploring a different target use cases and user experience. As one walks from side to side, around the object, or gazes in a specific direction, 2D artworks are married with 3D, inviting the viewer to enter into the space of the artwork spanning well beyond the physical frame.
